When you are a member of Aikido Centers
of New Jersey you are a member of all of our dojos and you can take as
many classes as you like at any and all ACNJ dojos for no additional
charge.
When you begin Aikido at ACNJ you will be
learning many new things. You will be taught new skills, new concepts,
and new ways of moving and thinking.
We want you to succeed and we will gladly be
there to support you but as with any goal, your state of mind and proper
attitude will help. To be truly successful you must be committed to your
success.
To help you to be successful with Aikido
we recommend you consider starting with our 3-Month Starting Membership.
Not only is this a discounted starting membership but, more importantly,
as with anything new, since the first few months are often the most
challenging we know that after those first three months you'll be more
confident, more comfortable, and well over the first hurdle in
succeeding at Aikido.
As a new member you will receive
individual guidance from our advanced aikido
practitioners, who, along with all
our instructors and chief instructor, will kindly help you safely learn
at your own pace and comfort level. Plus, as an ACNJ member you can
attend all of our Aikido classes at all of our dojos - all at no
additional cost.
Additionally, all of our Aikido classes
cover Aikido beginner basics as well as introduce you to Aikido advanced
techniques.
Before joining we suggest that you visit
any of our dojos to observe one or more of our Aikido classes in their
entirety. This will acquaint you with a typical Aikido class format. You
will also be able to speak to the instructor or other members after the
class. No appointment is necessary.
Simply refer to our class schedule and
stop in the dojo at any of those times. We look forward to your visit -
and to your joining us!
What are the benefits of being a member
dojo with Aikido Centers of New Jersey?
Affiliation with ACNJ strengthens our
practice and our dojo in many ways. First, your monthly fee allows you a
reasonable practice at any of the other four ACNJ dojos in New Jersey at
no additional charge. Second, as an affiliate with one of the largest
and most established Aikido dojos in the region, our students can test
for all kyu ranks under Greg O'Connor Sensei, 6th dan. Finally, you are part of a larger
community of Aikido practitioners who frequently come together to share
their experience and love of the art.
ACNJ-Manasquan Chief Instructor
Tim Vazquez
3rd degree Aikido black belt
Tim Vazquez is the founder and chief
instructor of ACNJ Manasquan (formerly located in Brielle). He is a
member of Aikido Centers of New Jersey where he trains with Greg
O'Connor Sensei.
Tim has studied a variety of other
martial arts and compliance systems. He has over 20 years of law
enforcement experience and is retired as a State Investigator for New
Jersey.
Tim is also the founder of DT Pro -
Defensive Tactics for Professionals.
Some of his extensive law enforcement expertise includes:
New Jersey State Police certified officer
instructor ID# 57170B in compliance with N.J. State "Security Officers
Registration Act, SORA". Former lead D.T. instructor for an
accredited NJ State law enforcement training academy and author of the-
D.T. lesson plan currently in use.
Certified Police Academy Instructor by the NJ Police Training Commission
since 1992.
Certified FBI Defensive Tactics Instructor since 1993.
Instructor of Special Tactical Response
Teams and member on two separate teams holding position of point man.
Former member of N. J. State Street Gang Unit and a qualified Hispanic
Street Gang Expert in Superior Court.
Recipient of N.J. General Assembly Resolutions and U.S. Congressional
Recognition for outstanding law enforcement investigations.
Over 25 years of martial arts experience.
Full time practitioner of a traditional Japanese martial art. Instructor
and administrator of a martial arts training facility.

Take Parkway North or South to exit 98
Take RT. 34 South
After the first circle, continue on Rt. 34 South for .6th of a mile then
make a right on exit "Sea Girt / Manasquan" (Rt. 524 Spur East), at
bottom of ramp make right onto Rt. 524 Spur East towards Manasquan.
Follow Rt. 524 Spur East (Atlantic Ave.) to first circle, go half way
around circle, follow sign for Manasquan, take to end. Make right on
BROAD ST. Take Broad St. to MAIN ST. Make left on MAIN ST. (You will
drive through downtown Manasquan)
Take Main St. to first light. Make a right onto UNION AVE. (Hwy 71).
Dojo is two blocks down, on left at
56 Union Ave. (Dojo entrance in rear).
